“I’ve found that if I have a fridge or freezer full of ready-made meals, I’m less likely to order takeout or cook something out of a pre-packed box,” John said. “When you prepare food, you have complete control over what is in this container! ”
One of the many benefits of cooking is reducing food waste. Many people choose to cook food and then freeze it – depending on the type of food you are cooking, it can be stored for 1 to 3 months in the freezer and up to 3 days in the refrigerator. So if you want to cut down on food waste, put leftovers or any excess portions after cooking in the freezer and they will be stored until you are ready to enjoy them.
“Cooking allows you to minimize food waste,” John said. “I usually keep my food in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, and it still tastes as fresh as when it was originally cooked.” .
