Cooking keeps everything under control

We’ve all been there. Are you struggling to stick to your diet or are you just trying to eat a little healthier than usual? But in your quest to get back to the office as quickly as possible or have some free time on a busy workday for video calls at home, you’ve taken the fastest and most convenient remedy for suppressing those stomach noises. Often times, when we’re not ready, we get fast food options (clue in the name), fast, but often full of unhealthy saturated fat, sugar and calories. Cooking gives you control. You can thoroughly prepare your own meals for the week, whether it’s lunch during the workday or making a healthy breakfast in the morning. This control allows you to make healthier choices, rather than doing what’s convenient.

“I’ve found that if I have a fridge or freezer full of ready-made meals, I’m less likely to order takeout or cook something out of a pre-packed box,” John said. “When you prepare food, you have complete control over what is in this container! ”

Waste-free cooking

One of the many benefits of cooking is reducing food waste. Many people choose to cook food and then freeze it – depending on the type of food you are cooking, it can be stored for 1 to 3 months in the freezer and up to 3 days in the refrigerator. So if you want to cut down on food waste, put leftovers or any excess portions after cooking in the freezer and they will be stored until you are ready to enjoy them.

“Cooking allows you to minimize food waste,” John said. “I usually keep my food in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, and it still tastes as fresh as when it was originally cooked.” .

Preparing food helps avoid temptation

Would you like to order food to go? Are your cravings prompting you to consider eating the delicious, junk food that your other half has mercilessly left in the kitchen right under your nose? Cooking will certainly help lessen these temptations, as it will take you too much time and effort to give up healthy, pre-cooked meals.

Meal Prep King recommends cooking as varied as possible to keep it fresh and exciting to help you stay on track.

“Vegetables are great for cooking – not only are they good for you, but there are so many different varieties and they add so much color to your meals. Vegetables rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants are a must for all ready-to-eat meals.

“Homemade soups thickened with peas, lentils and vegetables are also a great cry and freeze very well.”

And cooking will surely save you time

Nowadays, the initial cooking process seems to be laborious for many, especially if you plan to prepare breakfast, lunch, etc., but taking the time in advance will free up precious time during cooking. a week. A busy day at work? You can rest assured that at the end of the day, you will have a healthy and nutritious meal ready to eat. Or maybe you’re busy sorting through the kids’ dinner and seem to always leave yourself to the last. Gone are the evenings we spent with a comfortable bowl of sugary cereal – head to the fridge or freezer to choose from a variety of delicious dishes. What’s not to love ?!
